Welcome to Morningside Medical Practice
Updated 22 September 2021
We would like to thank you for your ongoing patience, tolerance, and understanding while the practice team is complying with the NHS Scottish Government guidelines. We are still very busy working behind closed doors to continue to provide patient care.
We know how difficult it can be at times to get through to the practice. Our practice population is very large and we do try to deal with the high demand as best we can each day. Thank you for your continued support.
We are sorry to announce that the flu vaccine will NOT be offered by ourselves this year due to the COVID-19 pandemic. We realise that this news will be disappointing for some but unfortunately the programme has been taken out of our hands.
Please do not contact your GP.
You can find out more on the websites of the Health and Social Care Partnerships or on NHS Inform
For more information please click here for 'Our Services' page on Flu 2021.
We ask all patients to visit www.nhsinform.scot/coronavirus or call NHS24 on 111 if you have any concerns and/or symptoms regarding COVID-19, COVID-19 testing, COVID-19 vaccination certification or any queries regarding the COVID-19 vaccination programme.
From 9th April 2020, the main practice door will be closed.
We are operating as normal but for the safety of our patients and staff, we are now operating a complete telephone triage system, where the clinician will call you back and can offer a face to face appointment if clinically needed. You mustn't attend the surgery unless advised by a clinician. Please call our receptionist team on 0131 452 8406.
If you are offered a face to face appointment, when you arrive, please press the intercom button. You will then speak with a receptionist who will alert the clinician that you have arrived. We will ask you if you wish to wait outside or come into the practice, and the clinician will call you through. As we do not have a sheltered waiting area, we would strongly advise that you do not arrive earlier than your appointment time. We thank everyone for their patience.
Please be aware that private COVID-19 tests are not offered by our medical practice.
There is no requirement for GPs to provide exemption letters, but if you feel you would like more reassurance by having a card showing face mask exemption, then please click here.

Remote Video Consultations (please only use this if directed by a clinician following telephone triage appointment)
Morningside Medical Practice will shortly be introducing remote video consultations with our clinicians.
Following the allocation of your appointment, we ask patients to click the below link about 10 minutes before their appointment time to access our virtual waiting room. This will then allow the clinician to know you are waiting. We always endeavor to 'connect' at the appointment time, but we do apologise if are running late as we can not predict the busiest of previous patient appointments.
