Lead Practice Nurse
Our practice nurses provide a range of services throughout the week. They perform practical procedures such as ear syringing, injections, wound care, blood tests (including ante-natal testing), blood pressure checks, travel and new patient consultation.
Please contact the receptionist for an appointment.
Diabetic and asthma clinics are held throughout the week for routine reviews and advice.
Elly assists the doctors and nurses by carrying out venepuncture (taking of blood samples). Elly is not authorised to give our patients blood test results unless already commented upon by a clinician.
The district nurses can be contacted between Monday to Friday 08:00 – 16:30 by telephone on 0131 446 2360. Outwith these times, please contact NHS24 by telephone on 111.
District Nurses are qualified nurses who have undertaken a specialist qualification in Community Health. They manage a team of qualified and unqualified nurses to deliver nursing care to patients in their homes. The service is provided for people who are housebound and will assess, plan and provide the most appropriate high standard nursing care. It is a 24-hour responsive service that promotes patient independence through teaching and supporting the patient and their carers. They work in partnership with other members of the Health Care Team and local agencies to maximise the opportunity for patients to live at home.
